Team Building Rules

To determine the team build, use the following guidelines.

Tier 0 – This tier is for a Tier 1 team that takes a Star Player. You get 1.1M to buy your team and any skills.
Tier 1 – This is for the following teams: Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Dark Elf, Lizardmen, Norse, Orcs, Shambling Undead and Skaven. Also, if you take a Tier 2 team with a Star Player, you are into the Tier 1 category. In Tier 1 you get 1.175M to buy your team and skills.
Tier 2 – This is for the following teams: Black Orcs, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegades, Elven Union, High Elves, Human, Imperial Nobility, Khorne, Nurgle, Necromantic, Tomb Kings, Underworld and Wood Elves. Also, if you take a Tier 3 team with a Star Player, you are into the Tier 2 category. In Tier 2 you Get 1.25M to buy your team and skills.
Tier 3 – This is for the following teams: Goblins, Halflings, Old-World Alliance, Ogres, Slaan/Kislev, Snotlings and Vampires. Also, if you take a Tier 3 team with a Star Player, you are into the Tier 2 category. In Tier 3 you Get 1.325M to buy your team and skills.
Goblins, Halflings, Ogres and Snotling teams can take one star player without moving up a tier as long as this isn’t Morg ‘n Thorg, Hackflem Skuttlespike, or Griff Oberwald.
So, a player picks his team and then decides if he’s going to use a Star Player. Then he/she determines their tier and can build his/her team with the appropriate amount of funds.

Additional rules:

Highlander rules for Star Players are in effect.
Primary skills are 20K, secondary are 40K.
No more than 2 extra skills per player.
No more than 4 of any one extra skill per team (i.e., only 4 guard, block or dodge extra per team)
No Stat increases.
No mercenaries.
No stadiums or sponsors.
No wizards.
Coaches may include up to Two Star Players as part of their team. The Star Players may count as part of the 11-player minimum.

If you spend less than the your allotted amount, you will not be entitled to Inducements on a game-by-game basis.

Also note: During the tournament, Undead Coaches can raise opposing players from the dead, following the usual rules, but since this is a “resurrection” Tournament, teams revert to their starting rosters each round. Undead raised cannot therefore be carried from game to game. Apothecaries may be used, according to the rules in the Competition Rule Pack.

Weather
Everyone will roll for their own weather from a special weather chart provided on the day.

NAF Tournament Info
This is a NAF approved tournament. If you wish to receive limited edition gift and have your tournament progress tracked, there will be an NAF registration onsite for the cost of $5/year.
More information can be found at TheNAF.net

Illegal Procedure
In the spirit of good sportsmanship, Illegal Procedures will not be called

Timing
The two hour rounds WILL be strictly enforced. You will receive ‘Time Remaining’ updates from the Tournament Organizer to help you stay on pace.

The 4 Minute turn rule will not be used unless the Tournament organizer feels your game is in danger of not completing in the two hour timelimit. He may insist on a timer being used and enforcing the 4 minute turn rule.

Dice
You are encouraged to share dice with your opponent. Only GW or NAF Dice may be used. You and your opponent should decide whose set of dice will be used.

Scoring
After each round you will fill out the game sheet based on the game just completed.
• A WIN is worth 3pts
• A DRAW is worth 1pts
• A LOSS is worth 0pts

Overtime
There will be no overtime played. If your game ends in a draw, it’s a draw.

Top Table (Only if the event has 10 or more coaches)
At the beginning of Round 3 the #1 and #2 ranked coaches will be playing for the title of Vino Cup Champion and 2nd place. Regard-less of any bonus points, the winner of this Top Table game is the Vino Cup Champion. If the game ends in draw, then Total Tournament points will be used to decide the Champion from the entire field of teams.

Tiebreakers
The Scoring system has been setup to hopefully get the most accurate representation of how everyone has performed. If, by chance there is a tie in Tournament points, the ties will be broken in this order:
• Winning Percentage
• Strength of Schedule
• Head to Head record
• Net TDs plus Net CAS
• Total TDs plus Total CAS

If it is still a tie at that point, the tournament organizer will use his best judgment in finding a way to break the tie.

Painting
All teams are expected to meet the minimum painted guidelines. They must have 3 colors on them and have had some attempt at making them appear finished. THEY MUST HAVE LEGIBLE NUMBERS ON EVERY MODEL

Sportsmanship
We are here for the fun of the game. Sportsmanship is not encouraged from the coaches it is required!

Fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship, but gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is.

Sportsmanship Awards will be determined based on answers given in the Etiquette Sheet.

Tournament Organizer will strictly enforce the “Don’t be a Douche” policy. Basically, it consists of not performing any acts of Douchebaggery.

Awards (NOTE: ALL AWARDS WILL BE CERTIFICATES)
The following awards will be given out after the last round:
o Vino Cup Champion - Winner of Top Table in Round 3* (if more than 10 people)
o 2nd Place - Loser of the Top table round 3* (if more than 10 people)
o Best Offense Certificate - Team that scored the most TDs
o Best Defense Certificate - Team that allowed the fewest TDs
o Most Brutal Certificate - Team that inflicted the most Casualties from any cause

o Best Sportsman - Best Sportsman as decided by player vote. Tournament Organizer will have final say and break any ties.

Spread The Wealth
A coach may only win one award. If they are in line to win more than one award, they will be asked which one they would prefer and the next coach in line will be given the other award. Tournament organizers reserve the right to adjust the awards.
